Bird Explorers is a non-profit entity designed to promote bird conservation
and provide a clearing house of bird and wildlife photographs
and information freely available to museums, NGOs, Community Groups
and other conservation entities in developing countries.
The Bird Explorers Website,
including the Africa Bird Image Database (AFBID), hosts thousands
of pictures of birds from around the world, with new photos constantly
being added. The
costs of maintaining this increasingly large photographic site
are considerable. In
addition, Bird Explorers offers our photographs free-of-charge
to a wide variety of conservation and bird protection groups throughout
the developing world. Bird
Explorers photos can now be found on over 150 websites devoted
to bird protection and other conservation intiatives. In
order to maintain this website and the free flow of photos to community
conservation initiatives around the globe, we would appreciate
any support from our readership, who enjoy the pictures, articles
and information presented here. With contributions of more
than $AUD 100, you can chose any Bird Explorer photo. We will personally
sign the photo and have it nicely matted and shipped to you.
